Woburn Safari park

Zoo Fab recently completed the design and construction of a compact yet high-impact reptile house at Woburn Safari Park. The project focused on creating a versatile, modern facility that provides excellent visitor engagement while meeting the specialised welfare needs of a diverse reptile collection.

The reptile house features three large, fully themed enclosures designed for larger-bodied species. Each exhibit incorporates naturalistic rockwork, durable planting, and species-specific heating and lighting systems, including dedicated basking zones, UV provision, and carefully controlled environmental gradients. Large viewing panels offer clear sightlines for guests while ensuring keepers have safe, efficient access for daily husbandry.

Alongside the major exhibits, the facility also includes a variety of smaller enclosures tailored for snakes, lizards, amphibians, and invertebrates. These compact habitats are arranged to create a flowing visitor journey, allowing guests to experience a wide range of species in a condensed footprint. Despite their size, each smaller enclosure is equipped with appropriate environmental controls, naturalistic décor, and modern husbandry features to support the specific biological needs of each animal.

The overall design balances aesthetic appeal with practicality, ensuring the space functions smoothly for keepers while offering an engaging and educational experience for visitors. High-quality materials, cohesive theming, and thoughtful lighting design help unify the room and elevate the entire reptile house.

The result is a clean, modern, and highly functional facility that enhances Woburn Safari Park’s reptile collection and provides a memorable, up-close learning opportunity for guests of all ages.
