Jimmy’s farm and wildlife park

Here we designed and constructed two large crocodile/alligator ponds and created themed guest areas with underwater veiwing

Zoo Fab recently completed the construction of two expansive crocodile ponds for Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park, delivering a pair of visually striking, behaviourally rich habitats designed to showcase these impressive reptiles in a truly immersive way. The project emphasised naturalistic theming, advanced water management, and memorable visitor experiences.

Each pond was engineered with significant depth, robust reinforcement, and carefully sculpted shorelines to support natural basking, swimming, and territorial behaviours. Central to the design is a set of large underwater viewing windows, allowing guests to observe the crocodiles' movements beneath the surface—a feature that transforms the exhibits and creates an educational centrepiece.

Both ponds feature dramatic, large-scale waterfalls built into custom rockwork backdrops. These provide strong visual impact for visitors while contributing to water aeration and circulation within the system. The rock structures have been shaped and textured to create a cohesive, natural environment that blends seamlessly with the surrounding landscape.

Behind the scenes, the ponds incorporate high-capacity filtration and heating systems to maintain consistent water quality and appropriate temperatures throughout the year. Access routes, safety features, and maintenance points were integrated from the outset, ensuring keepers can manage the habitats efficiently and safely.

The finished exhibits offer a striking blend of functionality, animal welfare, and visitor engagement. With powerful water features, immersive underwater viewing, and carefully crafted naturalistic design, the new crocodile ponds represent a significant upgrade to the park’s reptile facilities and provide a standout attraction for guests.
